Baseball Recap: Dominion Comes Up Short

Dominion extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping their season record down to 7-12 in the process. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Heritage Pride. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 15, 2023, but that streak is no more.

As for Heritage, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games.

For Heritage's part, Cooper Miskelly was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. The Pride are 2-1 when Miskelly posts two or more stolen bases, but 6-10 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Olszewski, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Dominion will face off against Park View at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Heritage, they will square off against Rock Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Phoenix have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.94 runs per game on average), something the Pride will no doubt try to take advantage of.
