Basketball Recap: Centennial Skates Past St. John Paul II Academy with Ease

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Thursday. Centennial claimed a resounding 69-41 win over St. John Paul II Academy. Centennial not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since January 14th (when they won 82-51).

Leading Centennial to victory were Jayden Prosper and Kaden Young. Prosper posted 11 points in addition to six assists and six boards, while Young put up 12 points. That's the most assists Prosper has posted since back in January. Reggie Hayes was another key player, putting up six points and three steals.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Centennial was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Centennial pushed their record up to 3-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for St. John Paul II Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Coming up, Centennial will head out to face off against Coral Springs at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for St. John Paul II Academy, they will host Forges Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
