Football Game Preview: Victory Christian Lions vs. Belgreen Bulldogs

The Victory Christian Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Belgreen Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Victory Christian not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since October 25, 2024 (when they won 56-0). They put the hurt on Donoho with a sharp 28-7 victory. The Lions' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Chase Pond had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 147 yards and three TDs. Dewayne Talley was another key player, gaining 98 total yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Victory Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 257 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Donoho only rushed for 76.

Meanwhile, Belgreen didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Pickens Academy last Friday, but they still walked away with a 42-37 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Victory Christian's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 3-4. As for Belgreen, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

Everything came up roses for Victory Christian against Belgreen in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 56-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
