Softball Game Preview: Hobgood Charter Raiders vs. Columbia Wildcats

The Hobgood Charter Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Columbia Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Hobgood Charter is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering SouthWest Edgecombe just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost 13-3 to the Cougars.

Hobgood Charter saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma Rae Cannon, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Columbia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Hobgood Charter, falling 15-0.

Columbia's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Hobgood Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.

Hobgood Charter took their victory against Columbia when the teams last played on Tuesday by a conclusive 15-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
