Recap: Straughn Tigers vs. Elba Tigers
It was a good run, but the Straughn Tigers unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Friday. They fell to Elba 56-52. Straughn was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ora Hall, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Blakeley Smith was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Straughn's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-7. As for Elba, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Straughn will take on the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. W.S. Neal is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Elba, they will stay at home for another game and welcome the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on January 29th.
