Recap: Leland Cubs vs. Simmons Blue Devils
The Leland Cubs lost against the Simmons Blue Devils last Saturday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Leland took a serious blow against Simmons, falling 43-15. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Leland in their matchups with Simmons: they've now lost seven in a row.
Akiah Prince continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Simmons, almost dropping a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. Prince is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Aaliyah Esco, who scored two points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Leland's defeat dropped their record down to 4-23. As for Simmons, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season.
Leland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Simmons also has no future games currently scheduled.
