Baseball Game Preview: Harpeth Indians vs. Cheatham County Central Cubs

Harpeth has gone a perfect 10-0 against Cheatham County Central recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Indians will host the Cubs at 6:30 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

On Friday, Harpeth didn't have quite enough to beat Forrest and fell 4-2. The Indians have struggled against the Rockets recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Harpeth saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Preston Merritt, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base. Merritt is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.

Meanwhile, Cheatham County Central lost 12-2 to East Hickman County on Friday. The Cubs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Harpeth's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Cheatham County Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-12.

Harpeth skirted past Cheatham County Central 1-0 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Indians repeat their success, or do the Cubs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
