Volleyball Recap: Culver Community Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Culver Community came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Triton Trojans, falling 3-0. The Cavaliers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Hayden Lute paced Culver Community's offense, picking up nine kills. Lute got some help from Sophie Grossman-Norris and her ten assists.

Triton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lydia Hammond led the charge by getting 23 digs. Those 23 digs gave Hammond a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Clara Doll, who had seven digs and one block.

Culver Community's defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-5. As for Triton, their record now sits at 8-3.

Coming up, Culver Community will challenge North Miami at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Cavaliers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Triton, they will host Peru at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
