Volleyball Recap: Lexington's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

If Lexington was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of White Knoll on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcats fell 3-1 to the River Bluff Gators on Thursday. The Wildcats' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

While Lexington ultimately came up short, they really made River Bluff work, particularly in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 23-25, 25-20, 25-19.

Rylee Nates paced Lexington's offense, picking up 13 kills. Nates got some help from Riley Livingston and her 25 assists. Rylan Penney controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Lexington's defeat dropped their record down to 17-17. As for River Bluff, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-12 record this season.

As of now, neither Lexington nor River Bluff have any future games scheduled.
