St. Laurence faced Evanston in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Vikings took an 18-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildkits. The Vikings' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

St. Laurence's loss dropped their record down to 16-4. As for Evanston, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. St. Laurence is set to challenge their familiar foe Saint Ignatius College Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Evanston will face off against rival Glenbrook South at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Wildkits 9.5, the Titans 7.7) so any points scored will be well earned.
