Recap: North Fork Miners vs. Roaring Fork Rams
The North Fork Miners lost against the Roaring Fork Rams back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. North Fork lost to Roaring Fork on the road by a decisive 52-38 margin. North Fork has not had much luck with Roaring Fork recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
North Fork lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ryder Hart, who scored ten points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Forrest Gonzalez, who scored eight points.
Roaring Fork found their leader in underclassman Kiko Pena, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 17 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Pena scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Wilson, who scored 12 points.
North Fork's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Roaring Fork, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-7.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Grand Valley the next time they take the court. Roaring Fork will head out to face Grand Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while North Fork will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
