Meanwhile, after a string of ten wins, Oswego East's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. The contest between them and Downers Grove North didn't end well, with Oswego East falling 50-36. The game marked the Wolves' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Oswego East's defeat dropped their record down to 16-6. As for Joliet West, their loss dropped their record down to 14-9.

Joliet West beat Oswego East 80-68 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Joliet West since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
