Softball Recap: Montour Takes a Loss

Montour lost against Chartiers Valley back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Spartans lost 17-2 to the Colts. The game marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Montour saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caylee Moser, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Montour is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5-1. As for Chartiers Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Montour will take on Moon Area at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Spartans are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Chartiers Valley, they will square off against West Allegheny at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Indians' pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so the Colts' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
