Basketball Recap: Skyline Find Success

On Tuesday, the Skyline Falcons earned a 60-53 win over the Westminster Wolves. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Falcons.

Jamal Gilliam went supernova for Skyline, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 14 boards. The dominant performance also gave Gilliam a new career-high in assists (five). Dj Swan was another key player, going 7 for 10 on his way to 16 points.

Despite the defeat, Westminster had strong showings from Michael Davidson, who went 8 of 12 on his way to 18 points, and Elyas Romero, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 21 points and three steals. With that strong performance, Romero is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game.

Skyline now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Westminster, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 3-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Skyline is headed away from home for the first time to square off against Golden at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Golden is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.8 points per game this season. As for Westminster, they will challenge Mullen at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mullen also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 60.4 points per game.
