Baseball Recap: Simeon Wins Going Away Against Solorio

Simeon never got on the board in their matchup on Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Solorio on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Sun Warriors with a sharp 14-2 victory. That looming 14-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Wolverines yet this season.

Antonio Porterfield tossed a big game, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Cavion Danley was incredible, going 3-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Daniel Jones Jr, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Simeon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 4-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Simeon's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-9-1. As for Solorio, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-10.
