Basketball Recap: Rocky River Starts Season with Victory Against Valley Forge

Rocky River took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They managed a 53-48 victory over the Valley Forge Patriots. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Pirates also won the last time the pair played back in January.

Rocky River's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jacob Radcliffe, who posted 16 points and six rebounds. Radcliffe is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in each of the last ten games he's played dating back to last season. Brandon Nazette was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Valley Forge's loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Rocky River is headed away from home for the first time to challenge South at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Valley Forge, they will host Max S. Hayes at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
