Soccer Game Preview: Bellingham vs. Squalicum

The Bellingham Bayhawks are taking a road trip to take on the Squalicum Storm at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Bellingham's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Lakewood with a sharp 5-0 victory. Given Bellingham's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 39th, while Lakewood are ranked 170th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last matchup, Squalicum made sure to put some goals up on the board against Sedro-Woolley on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 5-1 margin over the Cubs. Winning may never get old, but Squalicum sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Squalicum's win bumped their record up to 7-2-1. As for Bellingham, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.

Bellingham was able to grind out a solid win over Squalicum when the teams last played back in November of 2024, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bayhawks since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
