Football Game Preview: La Serna Lancers vs. Whittier Cardinals + Official Tickets

La Serna is a perfect 10-0 against Whittier since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Lancers will head out on the road to take on the Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. La Serna will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.

On Friday, La Serna didn't have too much trouble with California as they won 42-27. That's two games straight that the Lancers have won by exactly 15 points.

La Serna got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Landon Armenta out in front who picked up 133 receiving yards and four scores. The Lancers are undefeated when Armenta posts 80 or more receiving yards, but 1-3 otherwise. Grady Long was another key signal caller, throwing for 165 yards and four touchdowns on only 12 passes.

La Serna was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 247 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Meanwhile, Whittier managed to keep up with El Rancho until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Cardinals came up short against the Dons, falling 36-12. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Although Whittier took the loss, they still got scores from Nathen Gallardo and Michael Santos.

La Serna pushed their record up to 6-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 33.3 points over those games. As for Whittier, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.

Everything came up roses for La Serna against Whittier in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 56-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lancers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
