Academy for Academic Excellence had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They blew past the Excelsior Charter Eagles 3-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 back in September.

While Academy for Academic Excellence won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-3, 25-11, 25-23.

Their offense was headlined by Brin Bryant and Leeanna Lozano, who picked up six kills apiece. They got some help from Elena Acuna and her five assists. Brianna Vasquez controlled things from the service line, finishing with ten aces.

Academy for Academic Excellence's win bumped their record up to 15-3. As for Excelsior Charter, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season.

Academy for Academic Excellence will welcome Academy of Careers & Exploration at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Excelsior Charter, they are taking a road trip to face off against Lucerne Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
