Baseball Recap: Southeastern Local Comes Up Short

Southeastern Local extended their losing streak to 12 on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-13. They lost 16-3 to the Madison Plains Golden Eagles. If the Trojans were looking for revenge after losing 10-0 to the Golden Eagles when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Southeastern Local saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aaron Brown, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run.

As for Madison Plains, they now have a winning record of 7-6. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by nine runs or more this season.

On Madison Plains' side, Paul Madden was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Madden was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with three RBI. He has become a key player for Madison Plains: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 4-6 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Xaiden Sharpe, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Madison Plains is undefeated when Sharpe posts three or more RBI, but 2-6 otherwise. Brody George was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southeastern Local will take on Fairbanks at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Madison Plains, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Catholic Central at 5:00 p.m.
