Basketball Game Preview: Marquette University Hilltoppers vs. Arrowhead Warhawks

The Marquette University Hilltoppers just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Arrowhead Warhawks at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Friday, Marquette University beat Wauwatosa East 64-56. Given the Hilltoppers' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 111th, while the Red Raiders are ranked 272nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Arrowhead came tearing into Tuesday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23 points), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victor by an 82-62 margin over the Blackshirts. The Warhawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 20 points or more this season.

Marquette University has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.0 points over those games. Arrowhead's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-9.
