Baseball Preview: Mt. Hope Huskies vs. Moses Brown Quakers
The Mt. Hope Huskies will head out to square off against the Moses Brown Quakers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Mt. Hope will face Moses Brown after dropping another heartbreaker against Lincoln on Tuesday, which marked the second time in a row the team's come within 2.1 of beating them. The Huskies fell just short of the Lions by a score of 5-3. The defeat continues a trend for the Huskies in their meetings with the Lions: they've now lost three in a row.
Mt. Hope saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brian Abbruzzi, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another was Trace Dubois, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one triple.
Meanwhile, Moses Brown took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They blew past Springboro 10-0. The Quakers not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 27, 2024.
