Basketball Recap: Sarah Karlich and Rylee Thompson Secure Win for Grove City Christian

Grove City Christian's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They secured a 43-38 W over the Bishop Rosecrans Bishops. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

Grove City Christian was led to victory by Rylee Thompson and Sarah Karlich. Thompson went 7 for 11 from beyond the arc on her way to 23 points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Karlich dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards. Those 23 points gave Thompson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cadence Randall, who posted four points and four steals.

Bishop Rosecrans lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Emily Jenkins, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Sagan, who earned ten points.

Grove City Christian moved to 6-9 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Bishop Rosecrans, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Grove City Christian has already played their next game, a 44-35 defeat against Wellington School on the 28th. As for Bishop Rosecrans, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-37 loss against Catholic Central on the 27th.
