Basketball Recap: Academe of the Oaks Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Elijah Campos and Ethan Williams

After flying high against The New School last Thursday, Academe of the Oaks came back down to earth. The Firebirds lost 57-33 to the Hills Academy Knights on Friday. The Firebirds have struggled against the Knights recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Academe of the Oaks' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Ethan Williams, who posted 18 points and six rebounds, and Elijah Campos, who put up four points in addition to eight boards and three blocks. Campos is crushing it when it comes to blocks: he's posted at least three every time he's taken the court this season.

Academe of the Oaks now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Hills Academy, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Academe of the Oaks and Hills Academy will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Firebirds see the court they'll take on Atlanta Jewish Academy at 7:30 p.m. on December 2. As for Hills Academy, their break will end when they face New Creation Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on December 2.
