Northwestern had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the Bladensburg Mustangs as the Northwestern Wildcats made off with a 22-3 victory. That's more bragging rights for Northwestern, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
Alberto Weaver and Elias Medina were a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Weaver tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (he also didn't allow any walks). Meanwhile, Medina struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit. At bat, Weaver went 4-for-5 with seven RBI, two triples, and two runs, while Medina scored four runs and stole three bases while going 4-for-4.
