Football Game Preview: Lehman Catholic Cavaliers vs. Minster Wildcats

Lehman Catholic is 0-3 against Minster since September of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Cavaliers will square off against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Lehman Catholic knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past ten contests -- so hopefully Minster likes a good challenge.

Lehman Catholic gave up the first points on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They strolled past Covington with points to spare, taking the game 48-34. The Cavaliers haven't had any issues with the Buccs recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

A big part of Lehman Catholic's victory came down to the chemistry between Turner Lachey and his top target Evan O'Leary. Lachey threw for 565 yards and five touchdowns while O'Leary picked up 354 receiving yards and three scores. O'Leary really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 87 yards. John Verrill was in the mix too, providing Lehman Catholic with two TDs.

Lehman Catholic didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Lachey. He has been hot for a while, having also posted three or more passing touchdowns the last 12 times he's played.

Meanwhile, Minster earned a 28-21 win over Fort Recovery on Friday.

Minster's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Lehman Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 9-1.
