Baseball Recap: East Lake Eagles vs. St. Petersburg Green Devils
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask East Lake). They were the clear victor by a 9-1 margin over the St. Petersburg Green Devils on Thursday. With that win, the Eagles brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.
Hunter Wallerstein looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only a hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, Camden Boehm was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases. Brayden Spink also deserves some recognition as he stolen his first stolen base of the season.
The victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 runs over those games. As for St. Petersburg, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Lake will square off against Countryside at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for St. Petersburg, they will take on IMG Academy Navy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. IMG Academy Navy will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something St. Petersburg surely won't give up without a fight.
