Baseball Game Preview: Sage Hill Lightning vs. University Trojans

For the second straight game, Sage Hill will face off against University. The Lightning will face off against the Trojans at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Sage Hill hasn't scored more than two runs for five games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

Having struggled with six defeats in a row, Sage Hill turned things around against University on Tuesday. They never let the Trojans get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

For University's part, Andrew Shean was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over six innings pitched. That's the fewest hits Shean has allowed since back in March of 2025.

On the hitting side, University saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isaak Hsieh, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double. That double marked the first that Hsieh has hit this season.

University's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Sage Hill, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 5-6.
