Volleyball Recap: Mauldin's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

Mauldin and Boiling Springs squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Mauldin had to settle for second. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, with their most recent defeat being a 2-0 loss back in September.

While Mauldin had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-21, 21-25, 25-22.

Coleman Wheatley had an outrageously good game for Boiling Springs as he had three digs and one block. Wheatley has been hot, having also posted 17 or more assists the last five times he's played.

Mauldin moved to 20-14 with that defeat, which also ended their three-match winning streak. As for Boiling Springs, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season.

Mauldin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Boiling Springs has already played their next matchup (against Dorman), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
