Basketball Game Preview: Admiral Farragut BlueJackets vs. Clearwater Central Catholic Marauders

The Admiral Farragut BlueJackets and the Clearwater Central Catholic Marauders will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played.

Admiral Farragut is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest loss since December 3, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 54-32 to Canterbury. The BlueJackets haven't had much luck with the Crusaders recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Meanwhile, Clearwater Central Catholic came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25 points) and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 45-28 victory over the Barons. Given the Marauders' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while the Barons are ranked 323rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Clearwater Central Catholic pushed their record up to 17-4 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 24 points. As for Admiral Farragut, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.

Admiral Farragut took a serious blow against Clearwater Central Catholic when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 68-36. Can Admiral Farragut avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
