Basketball Recap: Livermore Comes Up Short

Livermore and Branson squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Livermore had to settle for second. They took a 60-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Branson Bulls. While losing is never fun, the Cowboys can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 280th, while the Bulls are ranked 98th).

Livermore has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-14 record this season. Branson has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-10 record this season.

Livermore does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Branson, they will challenge San Rafael at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. San Rafael knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Branson likes a good challenge.
