Basketball Recap: Jefferson Saints vs. Clear Creek Golddiggers
Jefferson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 19th straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Clear Creek Golddiggers and fell 56-28. The Saints were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Golddiggers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.
When it comes to explaining why Jefferson lost, don't look at David Jackson. Despite the final result, he went 5-for-10 on his way to 15 points in addition to five rebounds and four blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Heredia, who posted seven points.
Zephyr Schuessler was nothing short of spectacular for Clear Creek: he dropped a double-double with 29 points and 13 boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which Schuessler has scored at least a third of the Golddiggers' points. Donovan Duke was another key player, shooting 54% from the field to rack up 15 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
