Basketball Recap: Mcallen Memorial's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

McAllen Memorial waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 67-64 win over the Los Fresnos Falcons. With that victory, the Mustangs brought their scoring average up to 50.8 points per game.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead McAllen Memorial to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ava Thomas, who posted 20 points and four steals. The matchup was Thomas' third in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Eva Villarreal, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

McAllen Memorial's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Los Fresnos, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-3.

Looking ahead, McAllen Memorial will head out to challenge Palmview at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Los Fresnos, they will be taking part in a tournament against Canyon Lake at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday.
