Volleyball Game Preview: Fountain Valley Danes vs. Cripple Creek-Victor Pioneers

Fountain Valley has gone a perfect 3-0 against Cripple Creek-Victor recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Danes will welcome the Pioneers at 11:00 a.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Fountain Valley and seven for Cripple Creek-Victor.

On Friday, Fountain Valley came up short against Addenbrooke Classical Academy and fell 3-1.

Fountain Valley started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-20, 25-18, 25-20.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Cripple Creek-Victor and South Park meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. The Pioneers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Burros.

The final score came out to 25-18, 25-27, 25-16, 25-23.

Fountain Valley's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Cripple Creek-Victor, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-13.

Fountain Valley took their win against Cripple Creek-Victor in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Danes have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pioneers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
