Basketball Game Preview: Alva Goldbugs vs. Lindsay Leopards

The Alva Goldbugs will take on the Lindsay Leopards at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Alva is coming into the match hot, having won their last ten games.

Alva can't be too worried about heading out to take on Lindsay: they just beat Seiling at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. Alva walked away with a 45-38 win over Seiling back in February. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Goldbugs' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th, while the Wildcats are ranked third).

Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and Lindsay had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against Oklahoma Christian by a score of 44-33 on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Leopards.

Alva pushed their record up to 21-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Lindsay, their record is now 19-7.

Alva and Lindsay were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in February of 2022, but Alva came up empty-handed after a 41-40 loss. Can Alva avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
