Recap: Archbishop McNicholas Rockets vs. Turpin Spartans
The Archbishop McNicholas Rockets posted their biggest win since December 1, 2023 on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 70-50 margin over Turpin. Given Archbishop McNicholas' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 74th, while Turpin is ranked 296th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Archbishop McNicholas to victory, but perhaps none more so than Andrew Ehlers, who scored 15 points. Mitchell Conrad was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five rebounds.
Archbishop McNicholas is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. As for Turpin, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Archbishop McNicholas will square off against Chaminade Julienne Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Turpin, they will head out on the road to face off against Little Miami at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
