Baseball Recap: Center Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Harrisonville, Center was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past the Ruskin Golden Eagles 7-6. The victory continues a trend for the Yellowjackets in their matchups with the Golden Eagles: they've now won six in a row.

Brennan Eubanks was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 15 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off one hit. He has become a key player for Center: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most two hits, but 3-8 otherwise. Eubanks was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Center's record now sits at 5-9. As for Ruskin, their loss was their 24th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-24.

Coming up, Center will venture away from home to take on Cristo Rey Kansas City at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Ruskin, they will welcome Chrisman at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Golden Eagles are facing the Bears at the right time seeing as the Bears are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
