Softball Recap: Alpena Comes Up Short

Alpena fell victim to Petoskey and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Northmen by a score of 2-0. The Wildcats have struggled against the Northmen recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Alpena's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 9-4. As for Petoskey, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Alpena will take on Tawas Area at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Petoskey, they will square off against Boyne City at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
