Basketball Preview: Trinity Christian Eagles vs. Oakridge Owls
The Trinity Christian Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Oakridge Owls at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Trinity Christian is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Last Tuesday, Trinity Christian came up short against the Cougars and fell 48-38. While losing is never fun, Trinity Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 805th, while the Cougars are ranked 147th).
Meanwhile, Oakridge's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight defeat. They took a serious blow against Greenhill, falling 73-41. Oakridge was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-27.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Aaron Greenburg, who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Miles Frazier, who scored nine points.
Trinity Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season. As for Oakridge, their loss dropped their record down to 9-14.
Things could have been worse for Trinity Christian, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 52-34 loss to the Owls when the teams last played back in November of 2022. Can Trinity Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
