Basketball Recap: Wauwatosa East Takes a Loss

Wauwatosa East was the 74-66 winner over Oak Creek when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Wauwatosa East Red Raiders fell 73-64 to the Oak Creek Knights on Saturday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (56), the Red Raiders still had to take the loss.

Wauwatosa East has also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.3 points over those games. Oak Creek is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wauwatosa East will take on Brookfield Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Brookfield Central knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 contests -- so hopefully Wauwatosa East likes a good challenge. As for Oak Creek, they will face off against Kenosha Tremper at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
