Volleyball Game Preview: McDermitt Bulldogs vs. Carlin Railroaders

McDermitt is on a five-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Carlin a seven-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 5:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

McDermitt had taken Wells down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Friday. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Leopards by a score of 3-2. While the Bulldogs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Leopards 25-18 in the first set.

McDermitt actually scored more points across those five sets (103-96), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 18-25, 13-25, 25-21, 25-20, 15-12.

Meanwhile, Carlin came up short against Eureka on Saturday, falling 3-0.

While Carlin was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Eureka's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-13, 25-20.

Carlin's loss dropped their record down to 0-13. As for McDermitt, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.

McDermitt took their win against Carlin in their previous matchup back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Railroaders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
