Football Recap: First Baptist School Takes a Loss

First Baptist School was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 33-6 loss at the hands of the Hilton Head Christian Academy Eagles. If the Hurricanes were looking for revenge after losing 44-14 to the Eagles when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Hilton Head Christian Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kres Langhals, who threw for 331 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72% of his passes, and also rushed for 61 yards and one TD. Those 61 rushing yards gave Langhals a new career-high. Joseph Houpt was Langhals' top target, picking up 104 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

First Baptist School's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Hilton Head Christian Academy, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-5.

First Baptist School will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Pinewood Prep at 7:30 p.m. on the 24th. As for Hilton Head Christian Academy, they will face off against Beaufort Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
