Football Recap: Wenonah Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake + How To Watch

Wenonah won the last time they faced Hayden and things went their way on Friday too. The Dragons strolled past the Wildcats with points to spare, taking the game 22-6. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Dragons' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 148th, while the Wildcats are ranked 305th).

Freddy Hollis threw for 148 yards and one TD. William (Tootie) Thompson was his top target, picking up 76 receiving yards and one touchdown. On the ground, Jordan Davis rushed for 63 yards.

Wenonah is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.5 points on average over those games. As for Hayden, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Wenonah will face off against rival Ramsay at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Hayden is set to square off against their familiar foe Briarwood Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
