Preview: Hoehne Farmers vs. Walsenburg Panthers
Hoehne is 10-0 against Walsenburg since February of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Hoehne Farmers will head out on the road to square off against the Walsenburg Panthers at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Hoehne has four straight victories, Walsenburg has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Friday, Hoehne earned a 48-38 victory over Fowler.
Hoehne's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Janae Ramos, who scored eight points along with three steals. Ramos is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Alessa Cantoria, who scored four points along with five assists and three steals.
Meanwhile, Walsenburg was the victim of a rough 47-25 defeat at the hands of Dolores Huerta Prep on Wednesday.
Hoehne's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Walsenburg, they bumped their record down to 1-6 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.
Everything came up roses for Hoehne against Walsenburg when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 89-4 victory. With Hoehne ahead 46-2 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
