Basketball Recap: Maxwell Comes Up Short

Maxwell lost against Dundy County-Stratton back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Maxwell Wildcats were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 38-37 to the Dundy County-Stratton Tigers. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Maxwell's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jenna Miller, who posted nine points and six boards. Emory Christensen was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals.

Dundy County-Stratton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ava Lutz, who put up eight points. Another player making a difference was Clara Spargo, who earned 12 points.

Maxwell now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Dundy County-Stratton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

When Maxwell and Dundy County-Stratton next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Maxwell will face off against Perkins County and their three-game winning streak at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Dundy County-Stratton will try to stop Southwest's 14-game winning streak when the meet at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
