Football Recap: Grafton Bearcats vs. East Fairmont Bees
Grafton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They fell 34-24 to the East Fairmont Bees. The Bearcats lost against the Bees in their previous head to head back in September of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 56-14 score last time.
Grafton's loss came despite strong showings from Cash Nestor and Dillan America. Nestor rushed for 132 yards and a touchdown, while America picked up 112 receiving yards and a touchdown. America got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 80 yards. Cole Runner made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Grafton's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done. The picks came courtesy of Runner and Travis Mccullough. The dominant performance gave him a new career- in total yards.
Grafton's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for East Fairmont, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.
