Basketball Recap: North Valleys Starts Season with Victory Against Debbie Smith CTE Academy

North Valleys took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Debbie Smith CTE Academy Mavericks 80-0.

Ivy Williams was a one-woman wrecking crew as she dropped a double-double with 31 points and 12 steals. Those 31 points gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Emily Huff, who went 8-for-17 en route to 19 points in addition to five assists and four steals.

North Valleys smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 19 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, North Valleys will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Bishop Manogue at 5:15 p.m. As for Debbie Smith CTE Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Fernley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
