Football Recap: Bristow Gets the Win

If Victory Christian wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Bristow, they should've done a better job of containing Mack Powell. The Pirates were the clear victors by a 51-28 margin over the Conquerors on Friday thanks in part to Powell, who rushed for 176 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 57 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Another player making a difference was Javon Freeman, who picked up 85 receiving yards and one score. He didn't just play on offense: he also made eight total tackles (0.5 for loss) and defended one pass.

The victory got Bristow back to even at 2-2. As for Victory Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.
