Football Recap: Elleigh Hernandez and Irelyn Retzloff Lead the Defense for West Hills Win

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Hills). They strolled past the Pacific Ridge Firebirds with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 26-12.

West Hills didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Elleigh Hernandez and Irelyn Retzloff. Hernandez is also crushing it when it comes to defended passes: she's defended at least one every time she's taken the field this season.

The win got West Hills back to even at 2-2. As for Pacific Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

West Hills has already played their next matchup, a 26-0 defeat against University City on the 18th. As for Pacific Ridge, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Escondido Charter at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers' defense has only allowed 3.2 points per game this season, so the Firebirds' offense will have their work cut out for them.
