Basketball Recap: Fort Stockton's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

The third road game was the charm for Fort Stockton, as they earned their first road win of the season. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 51-49 win over the Kermit Yellow Jackets on Tuesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Panthers as it put an end to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Aundre Washington was a one-man wrecking crew for Fort Stockton as he dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jondrey Reyes, who posted 13 points and six steals.

Kermit's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Diego Juarez, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 boards. Another player making a difference was Brayden Pando, who earned 17 points and three steals.

Fort Stockton's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Kermit, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Fort Stockton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 85-49 defeat against Littlefield on the 6th. As for Kermit, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 55-42 loss against Andrews on the 6th.
